PHILIP BOATSWAIN
Philip is known for making entertaining films, with heart. Like a dog with a bone, once a story gets under Philip’s skin he apparently ‘can’t let it go’.
Born in Wollongong, 90 minutes south of Sydney, Philip studied at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and gained recognition for his first feature documentary Stealing Charlie Chaplin.
His love of cinema comes from Saturday’s watching Clint Eastwood and spaghetti westerns with his grandfather, Boatswain cites Asif Kapadia’s Senna, Seth Gordon’s The King of Kong and Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky’s study of Metallica - Some Kind Of Monster as some of his inspirations.
